The Maserati Quattroporte is an astounding car, and its design is no less remarkable. The difficulties of stylistically combining the lighthearted performance and long-established grace of the most famous Italian luxury saloon has always fascinated the greatest designers: Pietro Frua, Bertone, Girogetto Giugiaro, Marcello Gandini and Pinifarina.
Maserati's latest creation is definitely worthy heir to their stunning success, retaining a sleek, utterly spirited look. The front is instantaneously recognizable with a unique front: the traditional Maserati oval grille, with protuberant vertical bars, leads on to the magnificent bonnet and the new front light cluster, with LED daylights.
Getting into the Quattroporte is like entering an eliteclub. The interior is simply impeccable in design, eminence, and craftsmanship. The luxury wood panel work is a joy to observe, whilst the soft leather upholstery is anenjoyment both to touch and smell. The Poltrona Frau Leather, the exceptional wood and the stitching, styled in keeping with the purest handcrafted tradition, flawlessly contour the lustrous lines of the dashboard, the middle tunnel and the doors, enveloping the passengers in an environment of magnificence.
Maserati has always been famous for its ground-breaking engine design: the new 3.8 liter twin turbo V8 on the Quattroporte elevates the marquee'sritual to new heights, with a long list of complicated solutions that make this the most high-tech engine ever installed on a Maserati car. Around the classical V90 layout, Maserati has built a new-generation engine capable of generating a power of 530 HP and a torque of 710 Nm in overboost. Amazing statistics, which allow the Quattroporte to spring from 0 to 100 km/h in just 4.7 seconds and reach a top speed of 307 km/h.
With 95% of torque already available at less than 1,600 rpm, the Quattroporte's V8 combines the smoothest running with exceptional performance at any engine speed, shared with a particular focus on fuel consumption and emissions. The use of small, parallel-mounted twin turbines helps to prevent turbo lag, giving quick response to every touch on the accelerator and elasticity in all driving conditions. A straightforward spirit, reinforced by the use of double continuous cam phases on both cylinder heads. Another distinguishing feature is the high pressure (200 bar) direct injection system, which advances combustion at high rpm.
The Maserati Quattroporte's outstanding personalization is the product of many small touches: adopting a tailor-made approach, the client is able to choose colors and materials for every detail, to improve one or more facets of the character of this Italian design gem. The entirely renewed range of external colors comprises eight shades, which can be combined with three types of wheel rim (19", 20" and 21") and five brake caliper colors.
